More of a guideline than a recipe, this pan-grilled garlic bread can be as simple or fancy as you choose. Great for feeding a crowd or feeding just one, it’s a quick and easy way to enjoy garlic bread without ever turning on the oven.

Pan-Grilled Garlic Bread

Ingredients

  • thickly sliced bread of choice (buns and rolls work well, too)
  • olive oil, melted butter or butter spread, or cooking spray
  • minced garlic or garlic powder
  • salt to taste
  • parsley, oregano, or other desired herbs/seasonings

Directions

  1. Grease a pan with cooking spray.
  2. If using oil or melted butter/butter spread, combine it with the minced garlic or garlic powder and brush both sides of each slice of bread with the mixture. If using the cooking spray, coat both sides of each slice of bread but don’t add the garlic.
  3. Over medium heat, cook both sides of the bread until browned, then remove from heat. If you used the cooking spray method, sprinkle each slice with garlic now.
  4. Add salt to taste, and season with parsley, oregano, or other desired herbs/seasonings.

This bread is vegan when made with olive oil or the appropriate butter spread.

  1. My girls love garlic bread, or bread in general, this is so quick and easy I may have to whip it up this week since we are doing run and go again all week.

  2. I’ve been meaning to make garlic bread for ages, and never really got down to it. Now that I’ve seen your recipe, I know I need to try it this weekend!

One question: if you use a non-stick pan would you still need the cooking spray?

Oh, and thank you for sharing this at The Really Crafty Link Party! Pinned, of course!

    1. I think a non-stick pan would be fine without the cooking spray if you’re using the oil/butter/butter spread method! Otherwise, it’s what provides some of the buttery flavor.
      Thank you! 🙂

  3. I LOVE garlic bread, and this is so easy to do on the stove. It can be a pain to use the oven sometimes when I am lazy 😉
